Whats an IRS (E) Poker Player???

An Intermediate Recreational Student Enthusiast of Poker (playa)
How did I come up with this goofy title?
Well for one, I am good enough to "TAX" the donks!
Intermediate:
More than 100 final tables.....
And I didn't need to have only 4 passed out opponents, with beer spilled in their laps and a half a million hands to do it!!!!
I have logged 100s of hours live play, in casino, playing and railing to learn from the sharks. I have rubbed fins with them but am smart enough to stay on my side of the tank. I have had my fins bitten.
It means at least 80% of the time I make it deep, 50% of those times I final and cash, and at least 20% of those times I win.
I don't think it would be fair to be labeled a rookie anymore.
Recreational:
It means that my bankroll is whatever I can pull out of the bank machine at the 7-11.
My casino wins buy me and my family toys and perks. Not cars and houses but I have a video game/system collection that would make Fred Savage wet to the knees! When the bank machine is stuborn, I play with my poker winnings and sit on them too (furniture)!
It means I play for free, even when I am on a downswing. When my food, souvineers, entry and gas are paid for to play, then I can't complain. The extra "cheese" buys the toys or that steak and lobster we have been craving.
It means when I win at my home games, my buddies just bought us dinner and a movie and when I lose, thier empties cover my buy in anyway.
Student:
It means my ego has let me try to move up a few times and the poker gods have punished me with cruel "close but no cigars". By gods, I mean the players and those, sick & evil little odds and probability %&*#s!
It means that I can recognize the downswings, be truthfull with myself and look for leaks. It means if I have to ask a mentor for help and look like a rookie I will.
It means that I have a job away from the felts. My age, physical ability, economic environment/oppurtunity, my responsibilities and poker skills all dictate that this is where I should be picking up my checks.
It labels me an apprentice. I'm cool with that. I've been there before in my work and now I'm the boss. I know what needs to be done to get my ticket. It means I have to do the dirt and take it one rung at a time.
Enthusiast:
It means I pick up my Card Player magazine as part of the morning routine and again after supper.
It means I watch the damn midnight poker TV shows when I should be going to sleep for work.
It means I get excited when I meet the pros and my co-workers look at me with blank stares when I tell them about it.
It means my mom changes the subject.
It means I mind hump myself for hours, (and sadly enjoy it), after a hard session.
It means I spend an hour coming up with this twisted #^$%........

The "mind hump" the drive home replaying every hand, how you could have won more on each and how you could have lost less on each. Fine tuning your game, so that next time will be even better.

Jon you rock buddy, put me in that "catagory" too lol, we should e-mail and talk. I'm lookin' for a good group of guys to go up with to do some prairie and west coast swings, um' yah ... if my wife'y lets me ;-) Like to do the WPT, CPT, ever Regina tourneys' sound great and all the local and road tourneys. I'm not as free giving as you my info online as you are but again, we should talk and figure out away to do it. Great to meet someone new that has as much passion for the game as I do.
